Discovery workshop

Delen |

In the discovery workshop, together with representatives of the beneficiary organization, we look at all phases of a change process: from strategy and vision statement up to and including implementation of IT systems. We focus on awareness of the real challenges to be tackled within an organization. Based on examples and experience from earlier programmes, together with the beneficiary, we identify core problems, explore possible solutions and assess the requirements for starting up a change programme. Special attention will be paid to business aspects. We explain why a change process can never start with an IT solution. The workshops take 3 to 5 days, preferably at the beneficiary's location.

Practical experiences and examples
Practical experience shows that when external triggers force organizations to change, they often quickly adopt IT solutions available on the market. Our experience, however, is that IT solutions cause more problems than they solve if they are not well prepared for. Many problems within organizations can also be solved without IT, or with minor adaptations to the existing IT.

Based on a number of presentations with practical examples, we want to create awareness of the problems, challenges and real issues to be solved en route. We use our own case studies to show that to start and manage a business change programme is by no means a simple challenge.

Results
The results for the beneficiary at the end of the workshop are:

  • An initial and coherent picture of the problem, in line with recognized and experienced symptoms.
  • Awareness that IT can contribute to a solution, but is not the solution in itself.
  • A general picture of the approach and structure required to achieve the intended goals.
